new ssd unable to create folders

just got a new solid-state drive cause i ran out of storage on my main drives and im so excited but i can't use it cause i apparently, i can't create new folders first i tried downloading games on the new drive steam says new steam library can't be on the root and blizzard also gives me an error when installing a game on that drive so i tried creating a folder in side and i can't says "expected error is preventing you from creating a folder,,," IDK why is that but i did change the drive letter twice and it warned me it might affect the performance Idk i still did it can anyone help i'm formatting my drive as I'm writing this.

I mean generally if you've set everything up in a typical, it's a pretty simple process. The issues you describe suggest you did something atypical? So I'd be curious to rule that out.

In general a NTFS formatted drive without any special fluff is pretty simple and easy to work with.

If you used a guide to set up the drive, or anything like that you should probably link to that. If you deviated from it, you should mention those deviations.

Plug drive in, start pc, use windows own partition thing to make the drive ntfs and give it a letter.
(Make very sure you handle the right drive while that)

now ive been watching alot of youtube about this tried admin cmd to diskaprt now the disk in not seeable i have a new volume G i can open it but i can't make folders indide of it can't chkdsk /r G:
can't scan drive in properties now im stuck

in disk management i have an unallocated disk space and unknown and not initialized with a red download icon

iam on disk management menu and i can't initilized when i do it says a device which does not exist was specified

Maybe you overcomplicated things, and made a mistake.

Watch a video about how to initialise and setup a new drive.
The video should be short and not telling about typing anything in cmd etc. Just basic how to.
