Questions on Oculus Rift - Please Help
I was thinking about buying the Oculus Rift S PC-Powered VR Headset.

I had two questions, and I am very confused about the first question.

1) It says it needs a facebook login to work. What if the game itself doesn't require you to use facebook, then will the game still work with this headset? Suppose the VR game itself doesn't even look at or use your facebook account? Does this only work with games where the game itself logins to facebook? I'm very confused on this.

2) Also it has a S in the name, does this work on games that say they support the Oculus Rift without a S in the name? Any VR game that just says Oculus Rift, will work with this headset or not?

1) Sure. The game couldn't care less if your VR headset is a useless brick when your Facebook accounts gets banned for whatever reason. Any VR game supporting Oculus will run, Facebook or not.

2) Any Oculus Rift game will run on any Oculus Rift headset, unless especially noted.

Still a little confused on question #1.

What exactly does the headset use facebook for? And why would it be a quote "useless brick" if your facebook account got banned? A bit confused here.

from support page: "a Facebook account is required to use your device, apps, and the Oculus store. You can create a Facebook account by tapping “Sign Up” on the first screen of the device set up process in the Oculus mobile app...."

My question is, what if the "app" (i.e. game) doesn't support Facebook, is that a problem, will the game still work? I am trying to understand that part.

The software running the headset requires you to login with a facebook account. They made an artificial barrier. The app doesn't need to support or use the Facebook provided features.

1. I mean you need a Facebook account, because the drivers etc are in the oculus-app and you can only use it after a login. I was lucky that I bought my Rift-S before the facebook change and thus bypassed facebook.

2. The Rift S is the Oculus Rift. The Rift S is the successor model. Every game that says Oculus Rift works also with the Rift S (same VR-Headset)

It's completely irrelevant. A game couldn't care less about Facebok or not.
