steam tries to update games i've uninstalled
Everytime I (re)start steam client it tries to update (and reinstall) uninstalled games.

It's happening with The Witcher 3 and Ghost Recon Wildlands.

I've tried uninstalling the game in Library tab, deleting the game in the commmon steamlibrary folder, cleaning download data in config.

Everytime I restart steam those games are there, showing they are installed and starting to download updates for full content

How do I end this?

Steam folder -> "steamapps". There are some manifest files with a number.
Example: "appmanifest_945360.acf".

The number in this example at the end is the ID of the Game "Among Us".
Open the Shoppages of your games, in the URL you can see the ID.
Look for the manifest file/s of your game and delete/move those out of the folder. Restart Steam after that. This could probably fix this issue.

Note that, if your Game is on a different Harddrive, the manifest file will also be on that different Harddrive.

I'm having the exact same problem but with diferent games.

Tried everything I can think of. Nothing changes.

Every time I restart steam it tries to reinstall games I have unistalled.

If anyone has any Idea why this is happening I would appreciate the help.

Thank you.

Moppel, you nailed it!

The only thing is that i've found the game ID in the game properties (left down corner).

Problem solved

I found an even easier way to get rid of those recurring updates for uninstalled games.

Go to the Downloads screen, right-click on the update and select Manage > Uninstall. This will quickly "uninstall" the game again, this time removing the update from the Downloads screen.

N.B. You might have to first clear your downloads cache under Steam Settings > Downloads.

Thank you Moppel! Had this issue with Starfield after manually deleting the folder and this solution was straight forward.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
