I can't use a visa gift card on Steam.

When I enter the info, it says it could not be completed and the card has been declined. Im using a gift card i got from my birthday. Any suggestions?

Contact the provider using the number on the back of the card.

Did you activate your Visa Gift card? That means read the back of the card, or read the paper manual that came with it that tells you how to activate it for online use.

Otherwise do what Hotsauce say, contact the Visa Gift card company.

Also make sure that the format of the card CAN be used for online purchases. Some cannot. Read the contract that it came with.

There's that weird-ass thing out there called "domestic credit card". Meaning one that can only be used in your country. Make sure it's none of those.
Either way, call the credit card company.

Ok, here's an update. I was able to use the same damn card to add to m steam wallet, and THEN buy the game. Steam had no issues accepting the card when i bought steam monies. as it is a straight 1 for 1 this is an acceptable workaround. As for calling the CC company, no good. Visa's The Perfect Gift card has NO support whatsoever.

I know that company "The perfect gift", had an issue with them twice on Origin, and Steam, had to link card to paypal for it to be accepted as for whatever reason kept on giving errors that was years ago. I used other pre-paid card compaines and they work just fine.

Just so you know you can add custom amount on Steam if you look up a guide on this, as have to be done via broswer, this way you only pay what you want, or link it to paypal.

Just figured out something yesterday, cuz of a new law you have to spend 74 CAD or less on a purchase so by either 50 buck Steam monies or 74 using custom methods, I was able to use the 50 4 times before it stopped working then I did 25.

Also I just learned cuz of the European ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ laws you can only spend a max of 225 CAD in your lifetime on steam, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Where you get this info from? Because I'm also Canadian and I have no heard of these limits, that sounds like issue with your credit card / bank issue.
