Help with steam support
Hello.

I am trying to access my second account. I have the account name and password. After I reinstalled steam it wants a authority code sent to the email connected with this account. After not recieving codes on the email I think it is. I thought it might be a email I forgot, but in the support section I enter the email adress I think it is to recover, but still not recieving any code on this email. Steam support also confirms this email is connected to a steam account and confirms they sent codes.

What can I do?

When it sends the code it gives a hint as to what email address it sent the code to. For example say your email is 1through9[at]hotmail[dot]com the prompt saying it sent the code will say "We sent the code to ********9@hotmail.***

The number of *****'s before the @ is the same number of characters in the email address they sent it to. Maybe you're not going to the right email address?

You should check spam/junk folder.

Do you use hotmail.com as email provider?

I have the same problem. Have checkedd spamme folder and recieve emails from steam many times for commerial "#¤% andd help etc, but after refering to hotmail. They tell me it is a steam issue, but not when it will be fixed. Just that they are aware of it and trying to fix it. In the mean time i am shrew. Cause the phone number I always used and that worked is now also not working. (maybe beause new provider) Not sure if phone number hasn't been deletedd for some reason. Need authentification code for a game I bought andd now want to return cause it wasn't working. I can log in and out fine.... (I hope) Just can't buy game or use game keys etc. Real freaking bother.
PLEASE ddo help ous.

Andd no matter what you try and do. You stuck with either having to get code to email or phone number, that suddenly after working for years also does work.
Give ous some answers if it is not in the spamme folder.b So annoying

This is extremely difficult to understand. I think what they're trying to suggest from what I can manage to translate out of it to legible English is that we have a choice between email or a phone number steam sends the authentication code to.

I *think* what they're trying to suggest is check your spam / junk folder for the messages. If that doesn't work switch Steam Guard to using a cell phone number.
You can also add an additional email address or change the email address to your Steam account.
I suggest to use another email.
From my memory, hotmail was one of those that made trouble.
Its nothing new.

I've had a hotmail email account for 22 years now and never once had a problem with it. It is still one of my primary accounts. Maybe your experience was different. I've never heard of msn or hotmail ever 'made trouble'.

In regards to steam. And based on what i read here.
Just did not hear something else, so maybe that would fix it.

Also difficult to understand. What are you talking about?
No one mentioned hotmail besides me and I was only using it as an example.
Are you having this same issue?

"So maybe --->*what*<---- would fix it."?????
"That" doesn't explain or indicate anything. It doesn't even hint at what you're talking about either.
I have read several times here hotmail being mentioned to have the described problems.

As you dont have the problems, i added "maybe" changing email could fix it.

Clear now?

Yes, thank you!

I agree. If there's a problem with receiving messages at a specific email address, I've personally experienced that with google, using a different email might correct it. In this case the user isn't able to login to their account so they can't change the email.
