I've previously played Batman: Arkham City so I thought I may as well attempt to help rather than just linking the game specific discussions.
I'm gonna break down the explanation for this just so it's easier to understand.
Switching to nightwing (using that mod) causes you to relocate, which would bring you back to the court house area (as nightwing obviously)
You weren't able to return to the elevator because (if I recall correctly) the elevator doesn't return back down to the bottom because you aren't intended to leave the area after going up there.
I believe you're gonna need to restart from the beginning, I would recommend not using that character swap mod because of how easily you can mess up objectives and the story.
Edit: TL;DR
The character swap mod caused you to relocate, and (to my memory) there isn't an intended way of going back after getting to the area with the elevator because of how the story works.
I think you'll need to restart from the beginning, I'm pretty sure there isn't a way to rewind back to previous checkpoints, saves or autosaves.
