Save location - Steam
Hi,

usually there are questions (and answers) about specific games.
But nowhere did I find info about the cloud page, where you can find out what and how...
Maybe some of you will be helped by a general description of how to find a local save of your games ;)

Every Steam game is stored differently! (sometimes in Documents, sometimes in Local, sometimes directly in the user's folder ...)

The easiest way is to look directly at the Steam cloud (the game must support the Cloud):

https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage

Select a specific game from the list of games and you can see where the files are stored locally.

E.g. for Skyrim it is in Documents:
WinMyDocuments my games/skyrim/saves/autosave1.ess

For example, for Beyond Two Souls, the following is shown:
WinSavedGames Beyond Two Souls Steam/Save/Options/0

"WinSavedGames" is a folder in the user's profile (for Win10):
C:/Users/xxxx/Saved Games/

The easiest way is looking up on www.pcgamingwiki.com

yes, easiest way... maybe ;)

but the "remotestorage" link can definitely come in handy ;) just because you can download save positions your games (for example, when I no longer have some games on my PC and I just want to use my save on my friend's PC, where I'm visiting ...)

I haven't figured out how to get it (click through) from my profile, so maybe a lot of people don't know about this option at all.

So why not share such info :D?
