Scared to get trade banned

Hi, I've been contacted by some ''big'' steam trader tonight about my CS:GO skin. he wanted to trade via PayPal and I agreed. just before trading I got a gut feeling and declined it. Now the guy is accusing me of trying to scam him but I've been scammed before and I'm just scared to lose my skins again. The guy has my SteamID64 and my full name from my screen share. He says he's gonna get me trade banned and I'm scared that Valve will believe him since I'm just a lvl 20 person and he's lvl 230 with more than 7000 trades (I know that's much but I still just don't want to do it). What do I have to do now to not get banned? I got his Steam profile and a recording of the whole chat message. Please help me.

He can't get you trade banned, It sounds like he's using that as a threat.

What is a trade ban?

A trade ban prevents a Steam account from using the Steam Community, including trading and using the Steam Market. A trade ban can only be applied by a Steam employee. Trade bans are mainly associated with accounts that commit scams.

Trade bans can ONLY be applied by a Steam Employee, which the person you're talking about is not (and I can guarantee that) So therefore he cannot get you trade banned or any other ban.

report the person you were trading with. he was trying to scam you. you would have sent your items and he would either not send the Paypal thru or he would issue a chargeback on it if he sent the payment first.

in the future, only use steam to discuss trades. this will keep a record of what is agreed to on steam, 3rd party evidence is not used by steam. if you want to sell a skin, post it on the steam market.

never trade for promises, only trade for what fits into the steam trade window.

As a side note, don't worry about him having your SteamID64 -- that's public information, and can be easily obtained from Steam itself (for you, see this URL: https://steamcommunity.com/id/zralox?xml=1 ) And as for your full name, you have it on your profile (so if you don't want people knowing it, you should remove it from there!)

And as said in the other replies, you cannot get trade banned unless you were actually trying to scam him -- though you might keep an eye on some third party sites like steamrep -- while they're not official websites, they are used quite a bit in the trading community.

And the safest way to trade is only through the Steam window or Steam market. Trades outside of these are not supported.

You did the right thing in hesitating. Now, stop talking to the scammer, because they're lying to you.

Hopefully you didn't actually go through with ANY transactions. Block, report, ignore, move on.

And likely about to scam you if you give in.

This, he's threatening to scare OP into trading. Legit traders rarely throw fits or make threats like this, scammers who get denied what they want, do.
