^This, it's a great tool site that help compare game prices across multiple 3rd party key retailers.

If you're looking for bundle sites deals there humble bundle, fanatical, indie gala, and few other sites.

CDkeys is a 3rd party gray reseller, they buy game keys from other 3rd party sites to resell it themselves and rarely deal with publishers, they're are pretty good so no need to worry.
i usually check allkeyshop for prices

This is a good place to start. I normally only hit up Fanatical or Humble.

lol I had put my suggestion but it was censored and deleted, I suppose that the site where I buy the keys and Steam are not friends ...

Well that was strange. I thought I had posted here too, maybe it did not save even though I had received a notification by other replies. And I did not even post a link or even say a site's name. I merely asked a question how do the devs and the publishers feel about all this?

don't blame it man, as I said ... the censorship on steam is very strong.

forum mods stepped in. the site was filtered for a very good reason. the game developers have stated publicly that they would prefer you to pirate their games instead of buying them from that site. that is how the game developers feel about it.

legit sites know what the key is for and what region it is for. Dan's site does not care. you are dealing with random people and scams are very common there. and the sites idea of support is to sell "insurance" that the key will work (blatant sign the site is a scam) or have the buyer try and get information from steam support that steam support will not provide.

The gray market sites that allow individual reseller had on going issues with scammers, that why they been look down by most communities, as well by Steam due to on going issues where people get scam out of their money.

G-A has been caught lying blatantly to users in their AMA couple of times, and people have call them out with actual proof, and even demonstrate how easy scams can happen on their site.

Scams are not a large number, but it does happen to some people, which bad enough they will only take action if you pay for protection in the first place, or they say oh well to you.

- Scammer will give you fake code, or give you used code, and try to make you wait x period of time then they run off with the money.

- Scammers does chargeback on the key when they sell them to get their money back, and run off with your money as well, which later your game get revoke. that why some devs stated that rather you pirate their game instead of paying those individual reseller gray markets, because they been taking hits by chargebacks in old blog posts statements.

What did any of that have to do with my question and my post being deleted or it just never saved to begin with?

I had no idea, I would not have posted that name.
Of course the same thing could be said for any site that allows sales between individuals, even on ebay you can catch a lot of scams.
But I certainly won't be complaining about Steam, lol
Maybe in 10 years I have been really lucky... it must be said that I have always made small purchases there... if I have to spend a lot I only buy on Steam.

That why they're label as gray market, as they don't deal with game devs, nor publishers at all for these individually sellers, which the risk is always there.

On 3rd party reseller that does actually deal with devs/publishers directly, do not ask you to pay them any protection fees, and will assist you with problems you encounter, such as if you got wrong key, or incorrect code.

after what was written here i wanted to inform me too... i noticed that this site is the most complete of all, but it's just a search engine... when you look for a game it shows you all the possible sites that sell that key... they are all there.
I noticed that in the list, however, there are both authorized sites and "gray market" sites like the one posted by me earlier... I therefore deduce that it is then the buyer's responsibility to decide what to do.

I only buy from Steam as well. Although I have not bought anything in over a year, since they are now demanding too much personal info on gift cards and I do not use credit cards online. I understand needing info for online tax purposes, but you do not need to know "all" that they are asking now. If I wanted to put that much info out, I'd just use a credit card online. Since I don't, I wont.

I would also try GoG and "only" for their older games, as they seem to keep up better with them. But GoG does not have it's own gift cards in stores and as I already stated I do not use credit cards online, even from "supposedly" secure online sites, so I wont buy from them either. With Steam older games either work out of the box or do not and you may not even be able to find a fix yourself. And I know you have two weeks or two hours of game play and you can return it for a full refund on Steam, but I used to buy so many games at one time I never got around to playing them all. ^^!
