Steam asks my Mastercard Securecode
Hey guys, I have never had problems with adding funds before but now Steam is asking for Mastercard Securecode. I have no idea what that is. It used to ask for a code by getting a message but that's not the case now. When I fill out the card number it automatically redirects me to this security check. Can you guys help me with that?

Wonderful - I always get bank cards or contracts of all kinds and have no idea what they actually are or do or how to use them -- we both have so much in common

SecureCode is offered as a one-time-password/PIN (OTP) and is delivered to you via SMS. This OTP is generated by your issuing bank and is required every time you transact online at a merchant that also provides the service. Contact your issuing bank to learn more about this service and how to sign up.

Yes, I know about the SMS code but it doesn't ask me for that, I haven't received an SMS. I tried another card and the same thing happens.
So I tried it on my phone, it didn't ask for this code but now I get an 'unexpected error'. Nice, Steam.

Heihei dont blame steam
You should blame yourself or your bank
I don't blame myself or my bank as I can use my card everywhere else. I just tried it and I got the SMS code.

Steam doesn't manage Mastercard's secure code scheme, so if you're having an issue with that it's not a Steam problem. Even if it's optional verification offered by Mastercard that Steam has elected to participate in, that's not a Steam problem.
Yes, the securecode thing is not Steam's problem but the unexpected error what I got is. I already contacted Steam, I just thought you guys know what to do in this situation.

next time just read the license agreement between you and valve
or at least the faq or wiki with all the informations about CVC/CVV/CID, 3D-secure, ...
I know all those, you don't have to worry about that. As I said, I used it without problems last week and I can use my card anywhere else.

As Brockenstein already said you cant use this specific scheme
And in worst case your bank has switched everything over overnight
Maybe they have even removed the old ones - thats why you cannot buy anything on steam
