Can I manually open the Cloud Sync Conflict Window to solve a computer restore problem?
For safety reasons, I restore my computer on a regular basis, and sometimes I need to be synced with the Cloud or I lose recent progress on my games.

If Steam notices a cloud sync conflict, it will bring up the Cloud Sync Conflict Window which allows me to bring my progress up to date..

However, because of the nature of my virtual restore process, for some reason Steam often either doesn't sync my latest game play, or doesn't seem to notice that there is a sync problem when I return to play later.

Therefore the Cloud Sync Conflict Window doesn't come up and I permanently lose my recent progress.

I am hoping that I can manually open the Cloud Sync Conflict Window. Then I could solve this sync problem by manually doing an upload sync just before I restore, and then doing a download sync just after I restore.

SO MY QUESTIONS ARE:

CAN I MANUALLY OPEN THE CLOUD SYNC CONFLICT WINDOW?

OR CAN I HANDLE THIS PROBLEM SOME OTHER WAY?

Thanks, JS

what prevent you from take backup of that game first. then you can figureout whats the newest version but i bet thats the local. and after the cloud and GUI has change there is only one way thats steam explaned guide way to fix it. see steam help menu for that, you can also force a dl from cloud. ( and restart steam and relaunch game and make new save should make a new time stamp on the file and fix cloud anyway. ) most cloud use time as pointer to whats newest.

even a corrupted save game with newest time stamp can overwrite that one in cloud.

even stop cloud option and enter game and make new save and re-enable option has been seen as a fix before, ( cloud is not a backup solution its more a sync between 2 places, i think many use it as backup ( if this is to technical for you to understand talk with a IT dude, and maybe he do a mistake you also need to be a storage expert sametime ( sync and backup is not same thingy ) erase a tekst file to a blank page is still update to a sync a file in a cloud.

this is why external backup solution harddisk is the almost best solution, and can be remove from pc as real backup. ( then you have spent 100 of hours in a game , then such back actual make sense.

sorry for the side track here, but seen way to many people ( including me , lost save games over time duty harddisk crash,

many have a saying "he who do not take backup, just cry" well maybe not cry but have to live with it.

and its so stupid a external TB 20TB harddisk or lesser TB size can have many copy of all pc data.
