How to get better download speeds?

I am downloading POP Forgotten Sands and my internet speed is like 50mbps but the download speed in steam is very slow like barely 1mpbs and is taking too long to download..Is there any way i can improve my download speed?

new isp and or router/modem all i ever see is people having issues and i have none but my pc is not a rush build and my net is not cheap.

I think Steam is borked right now. I got 48.7 megs. out of a 52.6 meg. patch fighting to download for Planetside right now and it keeps starting and stopping mate.

change ur regien get better wifi get a wired wifi or just clear diskspace

Looks like RJDOM got it as has played 2.9 hours.

I already played it for sometime but as I was switching laptops I had problems downloading it I already had around 2hrs

I am terrible at troubleshooting these things >_< and I am currently having issues that seem to stem from issues between my New PC, and my Router... its worst with Steam games. So maybe its steam not getting along with the routers current settings?
The problem is my roomate set up and is responsible for the router and internet, and he had a Concussion earlier this year that hes still recovering from, he doesnt have the time or mental energy to help me fix my issues.
If this the wrong place to ask for help, please redirect me to a good spot. Currently in stir crazy Pandemic mode and my games are... important to me as a coping method even during normal situations. (fun, occupy my mind etc)

For example: games the size that under a previous router setting used to take 1-3 hourse to complete downloading during heavy steam traffic, even during the pandemic, are now talking 4 to 5 times as long during offpeak hours.
