Icon on my desktop are not correct identified.

Icons of my games are listed, by the OS, as *.url files and not icons . How do I fix so they are show as icon from the game? Tried to create a Civ 6 icon on the desktop by copying the icon in the Civ 6 as a short cut on the desktop and that failed, Horizon Zero Dawn worked.

Rightclick the .exe of the game in Steam programfilesx86>steamapps. common directory and create a shortcut cut and place that shortcut onto the desktop.
Maybe you picked up the wrong one. There is often 2 game launchers but only one is the right one.

if you have 100 of icon vist the steam icon folder under steam.

#:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam\games ( .ico )( icon's files to all desktop shortcut's )
browse to them to view folder so OS can re-learn all lost ico in the OS ( i did a F5 refresh and all shortcut got back at every shortcuts at desktop )
