Broadcast keeps playing in the background

Everytime I watch a broadcast on the broadcast page, it keeps playing in the background (sound only) even after I leave the broadcast page.

Sometimes (but not always) a small window will pop-up in the lower right corner of steam, but it's just a grey box and has no X button to close it.

The only way to stop it is to go into big picture mode or restart steam.

What am I doing wrong here?

If you are having issues, go to settings and disable broadcasting, then re enable. No need to restart Steam or go into BPM (a fate worse than death).

You should be able to click on the broadcast to pop it out, then close the window though.

I haven't watched a broadcast in quite some time so these may be archaic instructions but should still work.

They broke the mini window after they updated broadcasting. It no longer shows the X to close it.

In the settings I clicked the 'Not broadcasting' next to status and that stopped whatever broadcast I was watching from playing in the background. So this seems like a good workaround for now.

Here's hoping they fix the little pop-up broadcasting window.

I forgot to mention. After doing that thing in settings, the tiny pop-up broadcast window is now stuck permanently to the right corner. Got rid of it by going in and out of big picture mode. XD
