Steam Service Install

For some reason in the last week or so my steam client always pops up wanting to install the steam service. I click install and it asks again, then does nothing. This happens every time I start steam. I have tried the following:

1. Run in Adminstrator Mode - This works, but I don't like running apps in Admin mode if I don't have to.

2. Restart the Steam Service in services.msc - The service does not exist here at all (It did a week or so ago)

3. Manuall install from admin command line (SteamService.exe /install) - This fails with the following error.

Failed to get copy SteamService.exe
/install service install failed

4. Disable Firewall and Antivirus - Nothing

5. Run SteamService.exe /repair - Nothing

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like you have to run Steam in admin mode. Some PC configurations just need to.

im on mac and really nothing is working on steam

i have the game installed its just everytime i try and launch it, it says error.

I was just wondering why after like 4 years of running steam on Windows 10 it suddenly started doing this.

Update: I got this working. I used to have Steam installed on my E drive. The files were all still there. I ran the steamclient.exe /install from there and it worked. Very odd as I do not run Steam from there at all (I checked my shortcut and it runs off the C drive).
