How to delete (edit) items in the list displayed by right-clicking the Steam Taskbar Icon?
This list displays games that are NOT in the recent list, NEITHER is it a list of favorites..

So far I could not find any solution to my question and all I could find by googling it, were some "answers" to the wrong questions (imho intentionally misunderstood)!

For that I am writing the question as precise as mother-hacking possible, so there is no mother-hacking misunderstanding! ::: It is the list that you get when you right-click on the Steam-icon in the Taskbar. You can edit some items of that list via Settings, but you can NOT edit the list of games displayed on top of the list. This list would even display games already uninstalled or even hidden in the library! What the heck?

The proper terminology here would be the "TNA icon", "taskbar notification area icon". Because there's another taskbar icon of Steam, when it's open.

The list there is also a MRU, Most Receltny Used. Meaning if a game appears there, that's because you've recently played or installed it.
To remove games there, flush them down. If the MRU ist is, let's say, 5 objects deep than the 6th object put there will push the 1st one out.

That's a plain ordinary jumplist. It shows recent games, recently played, recently installed. This list has no idea you've uninstalled a game.
You can right-click a game there to remove it from that list or pin a game to that list, in case you don't want that particular game to get flushed down.

WRONG ANSWER! Sorry ReBoot!

The misunderstanding could be also due to confusing terminology in Windows 10. Taskbar is called both: icons with currently running applications and also a formerly called "Traybar" (usually on the right side) with icons like "Date&Time", "Volume", "other sheet running on PC" and guess what? "Steam"-Taskbar-Icon!!
If you right click on it, it will display a list of games that can not be pinned or edited by oh so obvious means!
I hope that corrective was now precise enough to pin down the exact mother-hacking problem! Got me?

So there is no XML that can be edited to do so?
May I ask you how you know that ♥♥♥♥?

That list being an MRU is easy, once you've seen one MRU, you've seen them all.

As for files-to-edit, knock yourself out. Go open files in the Steam folder, see if you find one where this stuff is kept in a (somewhat) readable way. I've found none.

As of four years after this convo, arrives me. Puzzled what should be my next step if Right mouse does not give any options when clicking recently played games (which 3 are not installed ATM..) Do i really need to dive into that group registery nonsense or whatever it's called? Why do us non-tech savvy guys need to know all this lmao This is absurd. Meaningless, but absurd.
