On an addon, such as my gmod maps, it had a discussions tab. It's gone now, and so is the "required addons" tab on the side.
Uh... yeah? They've had this for years.
Here's an example of one map https://i.imgur.com/GL8e1tU.png https://i.imgur.com/txDcmqP.png
That's such a backwards thing, I hope this isn't changed permanently, so many discussions would be lost, and the ability to communicate with the addon creator for features and bug hunting.
Until very recently there was a separate tabbed 'Discussions' section on mod pages where distinct topics could be discussed at greater length, away from the usual comments section.
However, it is now gone.
I absolutely need this separate Discussions section for my mod pages. I have perhaps 11,000+ subscribers across multiple mods. These are relatively complex mods that completely overhaul strategy games and have multiple moving parts so to speak. As you can imagine a tabbed discussion page helps enormously in keeping track of bugs, posting FAQs, explaining in more depth certain design decisions or gameplay mechanics, and so on.
The loss of what I consider a quite basic, yet absolutely essential, feature from my Steam mod pages makes hosting and maintaining my mods that much more of a burden that I am now increasingly reconsidering.
I'd like to know if this is a temporary bug or a new permanent feature.
Many authors have used the discussions tab for bug reporting/report corralling, extended feature documentation, extended FAQs, and more. I personally used it to discuss how to mitigate damage to existing saves when uninstalling mods, to trigger mod effects for pre-existing saves, or to openly coach certain coding/writing methods when comment character limits were not sufficient and to prevent visibility loss due to comment push. They were also immensely useful as containment to prevent official forums from being flooded with dedicated mod discussion.
This is a huge blow to existing modding communities and I pray it's a mistake.
But seriously, even a moderator didn't know this existed? Was it that niche? LOL.
It was quite frequented, given how many discussions have been had in various mods' Discussion tabs I've visited.
OP: You might wanna change the topic title to something more accurate, for example "Workshop Discussions & Comments Pages/Tabs Missing"
Yeah I was surprised too, especially since said moderator has been around here since 2003.
Eh, most people got what I meant with the original title.
