PlayStation DualSense 5 Wireless Controller Charge

I just got my 6th controller which is a PlayStation DualSense 5 Wireless Controller and I was charging my PS4 controller which has an output of 5V=800mA with an old white Samsung phone charger which has 5V=1A.It works very well.Now for the PS5 one I would like to use my P30 Lite Quick Charger which has 5V=2A and the PS5 has 5V=1500mA.I've heard some rumors that the PS4 battery died with a quick charger.It's safe to charge my PS5 with a quick charger?

When I had one of my Dualsense controllers set in for repairs I did talk to the guy about charging my other controller using a power bank that can do power delivery and Quickcharge 3 as cable not and option when using PS5 and I didn't use rest mode. He said it shouldn't be an issue as far as he was aware but wouldn't confirm it was actually safe.

I ended up getting a cheap dock, £12, just to be safe, as the dock would control the voltage so controller wouldn't get too much and damage it. Used it via powerbank in both outputs mentioned above and the Quickcharge via my PC. Never and issue.

So in theory it should be fine but as the tech guy wouldn't commit I can't say either way. If you're using it on PC just plug it into PC when it's not in use. Plenty of PCs still supply power to USB ports when off. If your's doesn't look in Bios for Erp or something and toggle it on. That way it'll charge over night. USB 3 for PC is usually 0.9-1a plenty for an overnight charge

I used my PC usb ports to charge headphones and they were charging for hours. The ports must be broken I guess so I just simply use my PS4 charger, thats way it's safer and easier.

I charge my DS4's and headphones via a switched USB hub plugged into my PC overnight. turn them off in the morning as they're charged.

PC USB ports don't supply much power and don't have any sort of fast charge abilities. I have a Quickcharge port on my case put that's powered from a Sata power cable from the PSU and that get no power when PC off. PC On/off my headphones take 3 hours. Plugged into a 3a fast charger, Power delivery or Quickcharge 3 it still takes 3 hours. via the hub it's longer if I'm charging a DS4 at the same time but overnight it's fine. They stop charging once full just like my DS4's and Dualsense. Dualsense takes 3 hours from PS5 and that's using Powerdelivery tech. Standard PC USB don't use that. Least not a standard port
