Old account recovery

So my father asked me if I could help him recover his old account. I dont think he ever bought anything on it. He said it was created between 2007 to 2011. I know the name of the account (the one you log on with) and the email accosiated with it, tho I cant log in, and neither can my father. I tried doing a password reset on the email, but my dad made a stupid security question that even him can't remember. Tried contacting email provider, but no response yet. Any tips on how I can recover it/or if there is any chance at all to recover it?

Honest question, why bother recover an empty account?
If it has no games in it, you wont have a creditcard number or cd key you could provide as proof of ownership during recovery.

I don't know honestly. Probably becouse it's old, or just becouse of the service badge
