Hero images get cut off

Sometimes hero images look really weird with Steam cutting them off on the top to bottom, despite them being in full in the cache files for the client. For some games the characters get their foreheads cut off or some other details are missing because of that. Any help?

Are you sure they're the correct size? Also certain parts of the image may or may not be visible depending on how large or small you stretch the window.

I have a 1920x1080 monitor, with Steam in maximized mode most of the time, maybe that can help.
