you are so poor to give info on systeam and what game. maybe its a user problem here, try install a that ment for windows and hes on linux.
It's seen so many time OP set things strait , its not us that need to drag info out of you.
in the end all this is still OP own fault lack of info in what and what you are doing
system spec and game name do you even have game requirements.
whats next icant get it to work, reason im on C64 and dont get it.
sorry OP but we cant fix what you dont support. or even have.
soon all will say pc system spec and OS game name or have a nice day.
Correct, you don't need to drag info out of me considering I stated I've fixed the problem. So many times setting things straight? I stated a single time that I fixed the issue. You're arrogant and rude. Your previous replies have been unintelligible. Your joke about C64 is funny though, you should look into being a standup comedian. For the second time, I solved the issue. You have a nice day as well :)
The cause was either two reasons.
1. OEMs often format them to something like 2MB sector size. Its to slightly speed up transfers (for mechanical drives) at the cost of usable space. Why that would be a problem for steam? I have no idea.
or and more likely it.
2. There was a small fat32 partition on the drive with software to install drivers for windows 98/XP support
Either way the solutions the same reformat hardrives when you buy them. You should anyway
hard disk was never the problem its was hes lack of understanding, what the harddisk was made for or build for in the past.
Lack of understanding? I understood enough to solve the problem without the intricacies you pretentiously insist I must understand. I explained the solution exactly as it was. Your lack of understanding my language is not my problem, nor did it have to be a problem if you weren't so pretentious. I never said there was a "harddisk mistake", I simply described my situation and found a solution. Consider that you're simply upset because I found that solution without your delirious, convoluted and unintelligible replies.
No that harddisk was made that way. with born recover and install software.
with multi partion.
I resolved the situation. I installed my entire steam library on the drive after resolving the NTFS error message per the solution I described. "With born recover and install software" That is absolutely irrelevant to the solution i described.
no that was the FAT issue you had. ( system see it ) and a 2TB disk thats a very old disk size 10 years ago atleast.
Okay bud
I mean you basically had an external hard drive formatted to fat32 as exhibited by the 'hidden' macos folders whichis only used on external drives so both pcs and macs can read them. The Adata 710 is an external drive formatted in FAT32
also clicking 'format' on a drive doesnt tell you what the drive is formatted as. you saw ntfs because that is the default file system windows formats to. It is NOT what the file system was originally. To see hte actual formatted file system you'd have to have gone to the drive letter and clicked "properties" and then seen what file system it was
Most external drives, out of the box, are formatted in fat32 to ensure they work with both mac and windows systems. yes mac can technically read ntfs, but to maximize compatibility manufactures use fat32. Its why the system had 'hidden' ./ folders its so the tools or whatever silly programs they throw on these drives work on mac too
