Steam wallet to Paypal
Hello. I haven't used Steam in ages(a few months to be exact). I have quite the amount of funds I have in my steam wallet that I wish to move elsewhere for spending purposes. I only needed a certain amount of funds needed for a game at one point that I wished to play, now that I have the game I need. I dont need to have all this money on me on my steam wallet. Is there a way to put the money that is in my Steam wallet so it can be moved into Paypal?

Steam wallet funds are store credit and can not converted back to real money/withrawn. They can only be spend on Steam.

Can Steam Wallet funds be gifted, withdrawn or transferred to another Steam account?

No, wallet funds cannot be moved or withdrawn to a bank account. Once a Steam Wallet code has been redeemed on an account, the wallet funds are then tied to that account. If you would like to buy another user Steam Wallet funds, please purchase a Steam Wallet code.

My suggestion would be to find a real life friend who you are actually good friends with who is willing to give you actual cash and you buy him a game he wants.

To repeat as Anonymous Helper stated above, there is no function within Steam that allows you to move Steam Wallet funds to be withdrawn.

There no reason to put funds on Steam wallet unless this is related to redeeming a Steam wallet card, or using the Steam market place to buy marketable items, beyond that not much point to putting money on Steam wallet.

The reason why most services don't allow funds to be transferred outside the wallet, such as PSN, XBOX, Nintendo, Steam, basically almost any store that has a wallet system, is due to fees to transfer money, and the fraudulent activity people try to commit, such as money laundering being one of the biggest reasons.

Wallet funds are no longer money. You spend the money and the wallet is nothing money than store credit. You can't withdraw/convert store credit on Steam, Apple, Google or any other retailer.

Alright. That answers one question. Here's another one for you all. One of my peers tried adding some money to his wallet, and he tried connecting paypal with it. Except he doesn't have anything in Papal to make the transaction, and now his steam wallet thinks he's got a lot of money. Is there a way to fix this little mix-up?

Steam doesn't know how much you have on Paypal. When you add funds by using bank transfer, or credit card it will pull exactly that amount you trying to add to your Steam wallet. If Steam can't pull the funds, it will automatically be denied, and transaction will fail, your money won't be pulled if you don't have the amount, or above to begin with. That's all there is to it.

Can you ... explain that a bit? What exactly does this even mean? Is there a balance somehow being shown that is not correct?

You know those buttons that add funds to the steam wallet? He pushed one of those when he was trying to put in the funds that he got from a coinstar machine. He didn't look that he needed to put in the code. He wants to undo the 'funds' from the button that he pushed when it came to adding the funds to his wallet.

If they went to his Wallet, then no there is absolutely no chance he can get that refunded, since it wasn't from a credit card or paypal / bank. Coinstar is not a bank.

Also if your 'friend' is trying to get YOU to help him on moving funds, do not do so.

The coinstar thing isn't an issue here. Its mostly trying to undo a small error that was pressed from pushing one of the 'add fund' buttons.

Then why bring Coinstar into it?

Coinstar isn't a thing you can refund TO. If the funds were never in their paypal, this isn't a thing that can ever be undone. If they have a paypal that this wallet fund used, IF they have not touched their wallet and IF it's been (what, still 2weeks? I cannot remember if it's different from normal refund-window use) under the normal refund window time, they should be able to put it back into paypal.

They need to do this themselves, and if they have a problem with it, they need to post this situation for themselves instead of talking through someone else. Because invariably there are things missing from these kinds of stories. Usually important things left out because it's a scam, a sham, or a very, very bad error.
