Steam Broadcasting Chat Panel
While watching someone play a game, how does one move the chat panel from the side of the video to below the video? It started out below and I grabbed the bar to resize the panel (it went up and down) but then it docked on the right and I can't move it back below the window. Trying the same thing widens the chat panel but doesn't actually move it.

I've gone through all of the options and don't see anything related to position of the chat window. I've tried leaving the stream and coming back but it remembers the old position (which is unhelpful). I just want to move the chat panel back below the video. How does someone do that?

Thanks for the reply but none of those links are there. There's a friends list settings button but it doesn't contain a broadcasting button. I did find the Broadcasting settings under the actual steam app (minimized in my taskbar) but the Steam viewers chat option there is to control how I want my viewers to see my chat when what i'm asking about is how to move the chat panel when I'm the viewer of someone else's game.

edit: and i know someone is going to suggest i just ask the person who's stream im watching to set that setting, but as you know if you read my original post, is that the chat panel is already changeable on the viewer's side since I changed it once but can't change it back. It's likely not a setting the host can change.

Figured it out. Noting it here for future self or someone else who runs into this same problem.

There is an icon under the window playing the video that is only visible when you mouse over the video (it'll pop up from the bottom). The icons from left to right are settings, volume, then a third one that we actually care about. It might say either Horizontal View or Vertical View. Clicking that icon will change one view into the other.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
