By playing a beta, I own a game I didn't buy...
I registered for free for the beta of Roll for the galaxy a while ago, installed it and played it, then the game got released for 12€ but the game is still in my library and I can play it.

Is it a gift from the publisher ? Because right now I'm playing the beta for A Game of thrones the board game that's gonna come out on October and I wonder if I need to buy the game at all ? Because it also says that I own the game and that I can pre-order it to offer to my friends.

Any informations about this ?

all beta keys are supposed to be revoked but in many cases developers/publisher don't do it.
in these cases where the developer / publisher do not revoke the keys, you are free to play it as you would a purchased game.

sometimes beta keys are revoked long after the release for unknown reasons, only the developer/publisher can clarify the why, but you are not entitled to keep the game if you received a beta key.

they are meant for testing and press.

so if you want to make sure you have the game "permanently", you should permanently remove the game and then purchase it from the store.
