My VR keeps rebooting my PC - HELP WANTED
Hi everyone.

I recently bought a new VR headset (HP Reverb G1), but when I connect the headset to my display port in my graphic card (AMD Radeon RX 480) it freezes my computer and reboots itself after 2 - 5 seconds.
This has happened all of yesterday and today.

I've tried contacting HP Support, Google, Youtube, friends (but to no avail) so now I'm here.
Can anybody help or have some insight on the issue at hand?

Thanks for the help and keep on gaming guys!

Ahh. That's kind of dumb given how much they require honestly.

But yeah given all that, ... upgrade or return the headset, OP.
We have used like 9 straight hours on this. We installed a Hololense Driver on the Desktop Device and now it's 3 out of 10 times the computer reboots so I don't think its the PSU anymore.
We got sound and light from the headset, but no image.
But all the time we used on this, we still can't get passed the Mixed Reality Portal (app) - We still get a 'Welcome to Mixed Reality please connect your headset'.

I really don't get it. My brother (who helped me) want to by a USB 3.0 adapter but I don't see the point right now.

----- And we know the requirements are high for this headset but everything we tried has told us that it would work and even with the minimum we should be able to get into the app so we can set the thing up. --------

*Edit: We use a desktop.

Well, not really. You basically have to render a picture for each eye.
So this headset has a resolution of 2560x2120 or so for each eye and runs at 90hz.
So you need a system powerful enough to render 2 game pictures at that resolution at 90 FPS EACH.
And its not like its with normal games where you can play a game at 30 FPS without much problems.
Any drop below the headset FPS rate can lead to massive nausea ingame and stutter.

So VR is really nothing for low end systems.

Dude that makes sense!!!
But we still agree that we have to get into the MRP app right? It's only a hub like SteamVR and Oculus.

Yeah, it should at least recognize the headset and thats its connected and such during setup.
But if you look at the Amazon page for the headset a lot of users complain of connection problems and faulty cables/connectors and such.
Maybe thats causing the problem at your end?

I was more referring to the power supply being provided entirely by the computer, rather than an external source. Doesn't valve's actually do that? But agreed: I would never try to run a vr system not that i can use one, but not on a lower end rig without prepping it first.
We threw it out.
Thanks for trying guys!
