Is it safe to show "Licenses and product key activations" list or screenshot to anyone?
For example:
If somebody asks you to show them your " Licenses and product key activations" screenshot. Is it safe?

What you think is the motivation for someone to let you show them this specific list?

Why would you? There is no reason.

If it's some rando on the Internet, they could try using it as proof of ownership and take over your account.

afaik all games we buy on steam are bound to our account forever basically so if anyone tries to use your product keys activation codes on Steam they should get a message those games are already activated and tied to a Steam account and be voided.
Why would you want to share that anyway your ownership?
To share with a friend I use a snip of the purchase date and prices from my purchase history. No actiavtion codes used point made.
Rule of thumb just dont share you private information to anyone ever.

They can't do anything with that list but the list is only supposed to be for you and Valve to see anyways.

Thank you very much. I absolutely adore this argument. You just saved me from someone. Thank you very much.

Sounds like someone is trying to scam you. Does this person claim to be a moderator or "admin"? If so, block and report them immediately, and do NOT give them ANY info. Valve employees or moderators will never contact you through chat, nor will they ever ask for info like this.

I never had a valid reason to show someone that list.

What do you think is your reason?

If it was a fake support asking,

pattern of scam is:
Bait, story, steps

There isn't anything in there, but when valve asks for proof of account ownership that list is useless. You need the actual PHYSICAL key.

There most likely isn't any harm in sharing it as you've been told but there is also 0 reason why you would EVER need to share it.
