steam backup started 7 hours ago, 0 progress

hiya, i'm moving my games from my old pc to my new one, and i tested this backup and restore system for rocket league and it worked just fine. so i decided to transfer all of my other games over and leave it for a while. (rocket league took 10 mins to compress, my other games total 70gb, i am trying to back them up to a 2tb empty external drive). but it's still stuck on saying 'please wait while the backup archives are being compressed and saved.. 0/0MB'. is it just a thing of leaving it longer or am i doing something wrong?

Looks like it's bugged. Close it. Reboot and try again.

Personally I would bother with doing it inside Steam using the backup/restore as it's added work to compress/decompress. Leave Steam closed then copy and paste everything from

your old C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps folder. (Example location)

into the new C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps folder. (Example location)

Then load Steam and it should automatically detect the games.

i tried that and it didn't work, i would rather use something proprietary and have it take a little longer

started it again but i removed games that i didn't need and it took like 20 mins all good
