they also give games away through twitch streams sometimes. I've gotten a key for a game shroud was playing because the dev was in the chat giving them away.
Games also become free on steam sometimes for a limited time.
I just watch this https://www.reddit.com/r/FreeGamesOnSteam/ and pick up any game that looks decent. Most of them are garbage but they have trading cards most of the time.
They can give out product keys to games and you can claim them.
If you like doing reviews you can try becoming a Curator.
You have to make your own steam group and have a minimum of 10 reviews posted as a group curator. Then if you have enough people following you, you might get some review copies.
