how to make steam recognize download ?
Well im asking because last year i was installing Rainbow Six Siege 6 and the progress was 60% (20+GB or more idk).Pause the download and restart pc then the progress just reseted to 0% but the download file is in the download directory and it contain the game files but steam doesnt recognise it....i have to start over again and it took me 2 day to finish because of my potato internet (i use wifi not cable) My download speed is 400-500 KBPS

any solution's ?

Sounds like the app manifest file might have been deleted. Do you use CCleaner? If so, tell it not to delete those files. If that isn't the problem, let me know, I'll try to think of something else that might be the problem. :)

Do you mean no, the appmanifest is there, or no, you don't use CCleaner? Does appmanifest_359550.acf exist in the Steam\steamapps folder? I just want to double check.

If the appmanifest is OK, is it possible they released a new update while you were downloading the game?

I'll try thinking some more while you check those possibilities.

steam reseted the download because of the patch file is overwrited or missing........i just figured that out.try it yourself

Ah, I didn't even think about where the download itself was. The patch file is probably a list of what needs downloaded or is already downloaded. It's not in plaintext format, so no promises that is what the patch file is for. Yeah, if you can and are OK with it, backup the patch somewhere safe until the game finishes. Other than that, I guess contact steam if this is a major issue that keeps happening.
