Locked Accounts / ReCaptcha Issues / Noone to talk to within Steam
I have an account (not hacked) within steam.

it has refused to allow password to be entered. It then prompts me to reset via reCaptcha which does not accept any of my multiple attempts - they were correct by the way!!

Steam then locked me out with no statement to say for how long.

I am trying to simply play the games i have purchased but Steam is virtually impossible to navigate to a point where you can raise a ticket with Steam (as you need aforementioned password).

NOT HAPPY. Whats the point of a system if it locks out genuine users. What a waste of time Steam is. User support non existent. User Friendly not at all.

Any ideas anyone?

try restarting the computer. give it an hour to let the lock out expire (the cooldown helps stop brute force attempts to get into accounts)
lol ... if you have a way of doing that, i would be grateful. Its one of those 'has anyone ever tried to find the technical email address for Steam' questions. It is really hard to get to a helpline contact email or anything. Even facebook page doesnt allow messages

This is a common issue since the latest client update. If you look there are several threads here on the community forums about it, other people having this same issue with Captcha and logging in. Unfortunately community members can't help much with client issues. I think the best suggestion I've seen, I'm not sure it worked, is to uninstall and re-install the client. You can do that without losing all your games. Uninstall the client only, leave your games installed. When you get the client installed again your games should be there but grayed out. Just click to launch them and a quick validation process will run and they'll be good to go. The validation process needs the client to be online.

If you're not aware these are community forums, players here just like you, this is not how to reach official support. This issue might need official help since it truly is an issue several people (I'm personally not) are having with the client - Steam needs to be notified about it so they can release an update that corrects it.

I haven't seen any threads that share a fix a user can do to correct this if re-installing the client doesn't do it.

To contact official support, if you are able to log in to the client, it's in the Help menu.
If you cannot get in to the client:
