Question about Xbox One Controllers on PC (using unofficial Bluetooth adapter)
I just bought a new controller today along with a charging station and a bluetooth usb dongle from Microcenter. No problems getting it hooked up the first time, but then it got disconnected for whatever reason and I expected it to automatically re-connect when I turned it back on. This did not happen, instead it sat there blinking as if it didn't have a device to pair too. However, on my PC I still clearly saw that it was paired but I was not able to connect it in any way.

Removing the pairing and re-pairing it allowed it to connect again, but my question is if I should expect this to be the standard operating procedure with this wireless controller from now on. It would be sort of a pain in the butt to have to constantly unpair and re-pair the device everytime I want to use it. If so, would I be better off just returning everything and getting my money back or should I get an official dongle for probably way too much money?

On windows 10 it works fine with bluetooth or the normal adapter for it.

Maybe your usb stick needs a software to work?
