Function keys dont work in game, please help

Title says it all, tried binding some stuff to my function keys but it just doesnt to anything. For most people the fix is in changing the bios setting for function keys, but it doesnt help for me. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

As for my specs, im on a HP 650 notebook with windows 8.1

Disable "Action Keys" in your BIOS

I already tried ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around with that option, didnt do anything

Then I'm pretty sure you have to press the fn key everytime. Almost every game has a config.ini file or equivalent. You can probably force the binding if you edit that "f1","f2", etc. the same way you would edit the resolution.

1. Press fn and the left shift key at the same time to enable fn (function) mode.
2. When the fn key light is on, you must press the fn key and a function key to activate the default action.

Yes, i have already tried that. It still works as if i was in desktop

Can you not even bind the key? Or does it show up as f1 in your game settings and change the brightness, etc.?

I cant bind those keys. If i press it while holding down FN it does the assigned windows function, and if i press a function key without holding down FN it just does nothing. The setting where i dont need to hold down FN didnt work either.
