PSA regarding the gift card giveaway scam

It seems this scam have returned after a few months of downtime so here's a little PSA about it:

If anyone receives a link claiming to give away gift cards do not click the link as this is a obvious scam but the site may or may not contain malware that could be used to hijack your account, this have atleast been the case in the past

I clicked the link, what should I do?

First thing you should do is download malwarebytes anti malware to ensure no malicious software has found its way onto your computer

You should also change your password and enable two step authentication if you already haven't

In the future you should also be more careful, ask yourself the following:
why would Valve give out gift cards for free?

Finally if you are unsure about whether or not a site is really affiliated to Steam, do a Whois lookup. If the registrar is not Valve inc or it returns as hidden you can be fairly sure it's a scam
