Important Steam file found in Found.000.

Today, while looking for a file, I found a new hidden file on my desktop called Found.000. After messing around with the permission settings for a bit, I found a file named file.00000000.chk. From what I've read, this is where lost or corrupted files are found or something along those lines. I hadn't done anything that would warrent such a thing from happening, however. Anyways, investigating what this file might be, I decided to open the folder in Word 2016, and chose a technical language, (it was called something like Unicode).

What I found was a bunch of my Steam information and settings. I found some information about my friends and groups, some settings and their current state. It also included my (I assume) account signature and ticket, along with my app tickets, licenses and tokens, all of them followed by a string of numbers and letters. All of this seems to be sensitive information.

Now, I'm sure that this document would have been found in my Steam folders regularly, but finding it in Found.000 is somewhat spooky. I'm wondering why this folder could be here, and if it would be something to worry about, like if it were a hacker trying to access my Steam info with a backdoor or something.

The Found.000 folder is used by CHKDSK and the files inside are broken files from damaged sectors on your HDD. .CHK files are completely inaccessible.

OMG, I just lost 500GB+ of steam games from my external HD:

I turned off the PC as usual, this morning wanted to play and no games found, disk is full with dirXXXX.chk directories full with game files and assets, but all mixed up !!!!!!!!
