When Opening Steam it only Runs in the background?
Let me elaborate, No matter how many time i click on steam it will not open. Ive tried Open as Admin but still no, I also Uninstalled and made sure all old files were deleted and reinstalled.

Still Nothing.

I dont know why but i decided to pin it to my task bar, i clicked it and it started to open. I saw the updating Steam window then it was trying to Connect to my account then disappears. I found out minutes later is the only way to open steam is for me to right click my task bar and click library.

Is this a bug? its extremely annoying to deal with and now i have to reinstall alot of games, Thats alot of time out of my life again.

I had the same problem. This has happened to 3 different computers I own: Win 7, win 8.1, and win 10. All were functioning fine yesterday. New update from steam rolled out early this morning, and the launcher never displayed. Logging in through the browser brought up my account, but my library was gone. This happened on 3 different computers, running 3 different OS and with 3 different suites of software installed. Resetting router, no difference. Steam was running on each system according to process manager, but nothing came up on screen. Games that I had shortcuts to on my desktop could be opened and played, but no library in the menubar when I went to steamview. Common point of failure seems to be this morning's update. Pinning the shortcut icon to the taskbar from the desktop works, but, that's not what I use my taskbar for. Please restore the desktop icon shotcut's performance to what it was before this last update.
