Chipmunk Mic Issue

I have an Nvidia Shield and I have a microphone on my controller and a remote. It used to work when I was playing rust. But recently it has sounded like a chipmunk. I did an audio test on my Nvidia shield and Google can hear my voice and pick up what I'm saying. But when I use my mic on Steam it sounds like a chipmunk is talking. No matter which input I use or mic I use they both sound the same. And my Nvidia Shield will put the audio to my Bluetooth headphones but will not pick up the mic that is on my Bluetooth headphones. Which are Skullcandy Hesh 3 headphones that aren't cheap.
