Can I play my Dying Light saves from another account?
Hi, this is specific to Dying Light but I thought I'd ask here since it's really more about Steam accounts than it is about the game specifically.

I have two accounts. On my main account I play Dying Light and I let my brother play that account as well. Recently, he started playing Dying Light too so I bought a second copy on my second account (this account) so that we could play co-op together.

However, I would really prefer to use my main character rather than start a new game and I don't want to demotivate him by asking him to restart his progress so that I can play on my main account. He plays on his own computer and all my save files are on my own computer. Is there a way for my to access my saves and play my main character who I leveled up on my main account?

Also, I didn't buy the season pass for the second account as I was just going to play the normal campaign with my brother in co-op. His attention doesn't usually last very long so I didn't think buying a second copy of all the DLC was necessary, but now it occurs to me that it might cause compatibility issues so I thought I should mention it just in case.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: added the answer.

That was my first mistake. My main save file included progress on the following so of course it wouldn't work. Second of all, I copy pasted the save files which I found were in program files (x86) -> user data -> some random numbers -> saves.

The "cross-talk" between accounts had nothing to do with anything, but for anyone reading this the way you do that is inside Steam: Settings -> Family -> Authorise Sharing -> Tick applicable accounts.

Thanks for nothing respondents, but if anyone has any similar issues and finds this through google, I hope this helps.

No. You cannot use the same save file on two accounts.

If you're using the same PC and the same user account, the saves should cross-talk between Steam accounts anyway. Otherwise, feel free to transfer the saves. Refer to PCGamingWiki for the location.

Can you please explain it to me like I am 5?

I have already tried opening it and my save files do not automatically appear. (Maybe just because I don't have the DLC on my second account.)

Also, do I have to enable cross-talk or something?

I would have to explain you the concept of programs, files and computers on general if you're 5.

Lets start off differently. Do you share computers and if yes, do you share the account?

learn your little brother to login with own account/pw, and later then old enough he can change PW so he can have it for himself , and you only know hes pw so he dont forget it. and you also avoid he say or do something in your name.

dont complain to steam if brother was cause in it ( ban or other issue.)
