Steam restarted my download TWICE for kingdom come deliverance
I spent 2 days downloading the game managed to put 6 hours into it until steam decidedly to delete my game.....twice. This has been an ongoing issuer and NEEDS TO BE FIXES. This would be a simple fix that just infuriated players for no reason! This is absolutely unacceptable.

If a game gets a update while you are downloading and you pause or stop the download for ANY reason, then Steam will restart the download fom the beginning when you resume it, since the version number of the files no longer matches the database entry.

So i would recommend letting the download run without any interruption, even overnight.

THAT is definitely not normal. And it did happen two times to you?

yes, so frustrating!! as i was learning to love the game =/. and my internet is slow so it takes 2 days to download for a game i pre-order. This isn't right!

Did you check if the files are still there when that happens ( in the install folder of the game) so Steam just does not recognize them or did they disappear too?

yep =/ deleted the files in commen. downloading and replaced it with the other files.

or vice versa, i forgot lol

Hmm, honestly no clue why that happened. Also are you SURE it deleted the whole game and did not just download a new patch/update? I know that this specific game had 2 VERY big patches since release, both around 20 GB+.

You might be confusing things here.

As with so many other people complaining that Steam randomly uninstalls/deletes their games, I can safely assure you that Steam does not randomly delete stuff.

Chances are that you have a problem with your system corrupting/loosing files. For example, it can happen if the system crashes or is turned off without proper shutdown.

IIRC, Steam also has a support article suggesting that some external disks might randomly disconnect, causing similar problems where Steam can no longer access the game.

but my computer never shut down during the downloads =/

just a thought here, when you download the game next, make a backup of the games file and App id, so if it happens again you can just put the copy of the game and app id back in the correct locations and it will discover existing files rather than you having to re-download again.
