Are there any games like Starflight on Steam?

Remember Starflight? The game from back in the day when basically all you did was try to find mineral rich planets to mine and improve your ship with. You'd sometimes run into other beings too in your travels out in deep space.

Anyway, are there any games like this (or close to being like it) on Steam right now?

Ah "Starflight". Played a ton of that game on my Mega Drive in the early 90s.

The closest i found on Steam is this:

Its a bit more complex then Starflight but a lot of the mechanics are definitely inspired by it.

Keeping an eye on this thread... I'd love to see a game like Starflight here too. Relatively simple, deepening story line, open expanse, a balance of simplicity between space, races, battles, planet exploration, trading, etc.

Has anyone tried Star Valor. It appears to be a beta of sorts that sounds promising
