CANT ACCEPT DLC GIFT

my friend bought me a dlc for borderlands 2 the ultimate vault hunter upgrade pack 2 i have borderlands 2 and it wont let me accept it Sorry, some kind of error has occurred:

This item requires you own the base game "Borderlands 2" before it can be added to your library

I would recommend to contact Steam Support, they should be able to solve that problem there is nothing you can do about that on forum.

Just type "Steam Support" and find option to report problem about gifting etc.If that doesnt work i would recommend you to uninstall and install Steam again.I am sorry if this hasnt solved your problem but i think that you will get more answers from other people about this problem,they should be able to help you.

i could go on my phone and try to accept it from their
problem is i dont know were my phone is

Right now steam servers are in a mess.. Just wait a couple of days until they fix it.

Wait?You're telling me that you received your Steam Gift but you didnt accept it phone?Without your phone you would not be able to accept any Steam Gift so that is the reason.

I understand what is problem here.You have enabled option that you can accept your gifts only through phone.Well for like games etc... you need to accept it through your mobile,so you need to if you can not find your phone just remove mobile authentication.When you have found your phone enable mobile authentication again and you will be able to accept your gift.

Reason was already told in your first post.

You don't even have the game on your account. That's why you cannot accept DLC gift. You played the game through Steam family share feature.

Buy the game first, then you can accept dlc gifts.
