Hi there. I was wondering if someone has an answer to my question.

If i purchace something from the Humble Store lets say a Humble Monthly and i already own a game in the bundle, but "click redeem on steam" instead of "gift to a friend" can i still give the code to my sister for example? If my steam account is already linked to the Humble Store is the steam key generated only for my steam account? If my steam account is unlinked does it still generate a code I could still gift?

Keys generated by Humble Bundle will work on any Steam account. Having a limited account (or not having one) will have no affect on key redemption. Keys do not produce gifts, they will either be added to your account, or refused if you already own all the content the key provides.

Let's find out. I bought two Humble bundles very recently, and I had some of the games, so HB made the redeem-Steam-key button darker. I clicked them anyway and wrote down the keys, like I always do, because I want to be able to gift key from time to time / I don't see why they should get lost.

Thank you for your answer - can you elaborate a bit on that? I mean if I purchased this months humble monthly and I already owned a game but by mistake ( I didn't check my huge library first doh) clicked "redeem on steam" instead of gift it button, can I still share that key (which obviously wouldn't work on my account because I already own the game) to my sister?

Clicking redeem on steam just shows the key to you. It does not use it.

You can use the key on any number of accounts, it has no special link to you.

Yes. Humble Bundle does not tailor keys to accounts. In fact, I don't believe it's even possible to do so.

Well we test we God above and it works! We traded keys on steam account linked Humble accounts and it worked... No need for that email gift ♥♥♥♥!

Gabriel and I just exchanged keys. His and my account were linked to Steam, so the Steam-key button was grayed out because we already had those games. The keys unlocked just fine. :D
