I self locked my account, but the unlock code does absolutely nothing
So i locked my account a few days back because i suspected someone stole my account. I was able to reset the password successfully, but when i used the unlock code, i get this email:

The self-lock on this account has been removed
The following features have been unlocked: purchasing, changing password, changing email, and playing on VAC enabled servers.

Trading and the Community Market will continue to be restricted for seven days. If your account has not had any activity for more than two months, these restrictions will apply for 30 days.
If changing your password was not a part of recovering access to your account, you should do that now.

Change your password

Add a phone number to your account to make account recovery easier in the future.


But my account is still locked, and i made a ticket on this issue almost 2 days ago with all the verification details n stuff. I still dont have a response. Is the unlock code thing a glitch, or will it unlock only after like, a week or something? Please help, thanks.

You're going to have to be a little more specific about which features haven't been unlocked. If it's just the market restrictions that you're referring to then that's not necessarily down to you using the self-lock tool - that's the standard restriction you get when you do a password reset.

no i cant play on vac servers, purchase games or anything...all the restrictions you get when you lock ur account

Yeah if you've made a ticket there's no need to make another one as it won't help you. Unfortunately Steam support are very slow and 2 days is nothing. You could be waiting anything up to a week.

is there anything i could do about the unlock code issue? I searched google for something, but I've seen nothing that mentions this(it could be that im not searching deep enough)

I received this email when i used the unlock code, but its still locked, and i have the account alert.

That is the alert i've got.

I would appreciate if i get a response as soon as possible.

is there anything to help with the unlock code problem? Im putting the code after i click on the link on my email, and i even restarted my pc a couple of times. im getting emails saying its unlocked, but it isnt unlocked on my account and it shows an account alert saying that my account is locked.

i only use one account, and thats this one im using right now.

Also i used the link i got from the mail saying self lock is requested n stuff.

The point is, if you are getting an email that says the account is unlocked than it should be unlocked, unless it is the wrong account or someone else with access to your account credentials is locking it again, but you should receive a message about the locking, for the second case.

I hope you have checked for malware before unlocking the account, so I do not know what could else be the reason, except unlocking takes some time and you would have to wait, I do not know how much time it takes.

If you are sure no one is relocking the account and that it is the right account (if I would get 1 $ for everyone telling on the forums he has only one, I would be rich by now :steamhappy: ) than only support would be able to help, if it stays locked, I guess.

I hope you'll get it solved soon.

im pretty sure its not getting relocked. But also, something that came into my knowlege recently is that i can change my password which is a thing thats supposed to be not allowed when your steam acc is locked. I'm wondering whether it takes a small period of time for the account to actually unlock after i put the code in? ( im not referring to the community market and the trading, im referring to the lock thing as a whole) If its glitched or this unlock code thing is just a gimmick, ig all i can do now is to wait ages for a reply from steam support ._.
