Steam games running slow after Windows reinstallation
Computer Specs:
AMD A8-6410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics 2.00 GHz Processor
8 GB RAM (says 6.94 usable)
System Type: 64-bit OS, x64 based processor
Windows 8.1

Recently I messed up while trying to install a dual-boot of Linux-Mint and cleared my hardrive. I then reinstalled Windows 8.1 with a brand new ISO I downloaded. Before the computer got cleared I had Windows 10, but the PC came with Windows 8. Before I cleared the hardrive and reinstalled Windows, all steam games ran perfectly well. Now everything else on the computer, including steam, works fine. However when I get into a game, no matter how small or how low the graphics settings, it runs near 2 FPS. I do not know the problem. I accidentally cleared the hardrive around June 2016 and reinstalled Windows near the end of October 2016.

I thought of that but when I go to have them scan for updates they look for updates infinitely.

Downloaded the ISO from the microsoft website, so I doubt there are any viruses or rootkits.

I'll try that, thanks for the idea. I was scanning them because when I go into Device Manager and right click the processor it says "Look online for updates" or something similar.
