How to stop Xbox Controller windows 10

Let me explain before when connecting the xbox controller to my pc on windows 10 it did not select programs and stuff then i moved the controller stick and buttons did not open up stuff

I use controller companion and it works great but now windows 10 also uses the controller when when im moving the mouse with my joystick the xbox controller is also selecting programs with the d pad or the stick if i move it.

i did not have this issuie before so im asumming they added it in a windows 10 update anyway how can i turn off xbox controller for windows 10 like it selecting programs and stuff when i move the joystick and pressing a opens whatever i select

No, Windows 10 does not offer such features. Sounds like like that Controller Companion did something.

Controller Companion is off right now

if i press start and use the d pad or stick it highlights and i can select stuff with A or B ect i cant select items in folders but like the menu and the settings and stuff like that i can navigate it with the xbox 360 controller

No such thing here on my Windows 10 Education with a XBox One S controller.
As i said, Windows 10 does not offer such features. Something running in the background does. Most likely a service installed by Controller Companion.

They even advertise such a feature:

Will running this app show me as "Playing Controller Companion"?
No! Controller Companion will launch through Steam and then run in the background.

No, you can even set Controller Companion to automatically start when you start your PC.

Yes if you have it set to auto start which i dont and i have it turned off and uninstalled atm

Plus your running Windows 10 Education is the basic version i got the enterprise version which comes with the latest updates and builds before anyone else

Education is anything but basic.
It has literally all the features of the Enterprise version.

Again, it's not a Windows feature. Something else on your computer is doing this.
