Slow downloading / slow disk on one PC while others are ok. HELP!!
Ok, We have got 3 Steam accounts on 2 PCs and one laptop. PC's are wired to the internet and the laptop uses WiFI. We got internet over Fiber at a Gigabit. Our LAN is Gigabit ready.
Speedtest indicates a ping of 2 ms, 848 Mbps down, 874.82 Mbps up. It's blazing fast!

Here's the problem:
One PC and the laptop have no problem whatsoever to download games/updates from Steam. All are running Windows 10 and having ESET as third party program as a firewall and such. Still, the other PC has problems downloading from steam.
Searching the internet we found several 'solutions' (changing region, clearing cache, limit download speed (currently 10 Mb/Sec), reinstalling Steam, Check settings ESET, check router (which is ok for obvious reason, the other PC's are doing fine), check SSD health, etc). Nothing helps.

The downloading seems to come in small burst and the disk usage starts high and goes down slowly. It takes a really long time (10 minutes+) before the next burst of data arrives.

Has somebody ran into a similar problem and know how to fix this?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

has this problem always been there `? Or is it a recent one ?? If it's a new problem it might be something that will fix it self...

Well, it's something that has been there for at least six months.
We don't buy that many games so it wasn't that big of a problem.
Recently we picked up Factorio again and that game has a lot of updates recently so we are confronted with this particular problem quite a lot :(

Swap the LAN cables and see if the problem moves with it.

Thanks for your comment.
I can assure you the cable is just fine as the SpeedTest has already indicated this.
But out of curiosity, why do you think using another Cat7 cable would make a difference?

look at the actual disk usage on the system, not what steam reports

likey your anti-virus is obliterating your disk causing the IO to drop and be unable to process requestst
