Insufficient Privilege over a gift... for no reason?
So I gifted my dad Don't Starve and Don't Starve Together, however for Don't Starve Together, he gets the "insufficient privilege" error message when he tries to claim it. He didn't have this issue with the first one. Don't Starve is fully up to date, has all DLC and is good to go... so any suggestions here on what to do?

He's playing it.. but.. we were supposed to be playing together. I'm missing out on watching him run around trying to survive. =(

"Insufficient privilege" occurs when you're missing base game/required content for the game you're trying to add into the account. In this case, it seems like you gifted both of these at once which means he could have accepted them in the wrong order, and/or it may take some time for Steam to update for it to allow him to accept the other. Please try closing the Steam client, opening, and accepting again.

We've declined the gift, restarted, re-sent and he keeps getting the same error message. This has been an issue all day. I'm thinking we may have to contact Steam Support.

Insufficient privilege is exclusively used when you are missing required content in order to redeem the game. Have you bought Don't Starve and Don't Starve Together from the same source, in this case I'm assuming you bought from Steam for both? If the Don't Starve base game was from a different vendor then it may have a different regional code and that is why this is failing.

I understand and hear what you're saying, but that's not the case. They're both from Steam, on the same day. He installed Don't Starve, has played it, no issues. Still have the same issue with Don't Starve Together. I had him log out, log in, restart his computer, and decline the gift again and again in between. His Don't Starve is fully updated and loaded. I don't know what "content" it could be missing.

My next idea is to have him uninstall DS, log out, restart, log in, re-install DS, log out, restart, log in... Then I'll send DST again... and if THAT still has issue, then contact support unless I can find other advice. I've been trying whatever I come across online and posted here as a last resort before turning to Support, hoping for some aid.

This is a totally new laptop that I literally JUST got him, so I know there's nothing wrong with it and certainly no viruses or malware to interfere like random missing files or whatnot. This has me stumped.
