How to disable "You've received a gift!" pop-up?
Hi all,

I was playing a multiplayer game recently when Steam stole window focus with a pop-up. The pop-up said "You've received a gift!" and asked me to accept or decline it. That's nice, but I don't like it when programs alt-tab me when I'm in the middle of game. I've looked through my Steam settings, but I can't find a way to disable this. Can someone tell me how?

delete the friends who gift you games? it's very rare to receive a gift usually, maybe you'll get 1 a year on your birthday or something, you ain't getting rid of it with any settings/options

Don't believe there an option for that, but wouldn't really recommend as chances are you may miss accepting the gift, and end up not getting whatever your friend trying to gift to you.

Now how often is your friend gifting? Because for this to be a problem it must be very often, other wise I don't see how getting a gift once in a blue moon a problem.

That's a shame.

I don't care about Steam opening another window, that's fine. I just don't want them to steal focus when I'm in the middle of something. There should be an option for that.

Try this
Steam top left > settings>Interface>last one in the list> untick. Notify me about etc etc
