Just got my MOGA XP5-X controller today. Connect to the pc with bluetooth without any problem, but when I tried to connect the controller with steam, but it doesn't detect. Does anyone know if XP5-X support steam game? like monster hunter wold

Interesting, it says that it’s not compatible with XBox consoles and also says that it requires Win10. That first bit suggests that it may well need its own drivers. Ah, it comes with a cable - try connecting it to the PC using that and see if it installs any drivers.

It’s basically a Bluetooth enabled XBox controller, isn’t it? Once it’s paired that should be it as I can’t see why it wouldn’t be compatible with the standard drivers.

Double check your manual to see if it does need its own drivers then try calibrating it through Windows to make sure that it is working properly.

I dont think there is drivers for the controller yet, because the controller is not officially release yet. I got the controller with my note 20 ultra preorder, and both package came today.

Hi Osui!

Hope you're liking your Note 20 Ultra (Got mine yesterday too) Having the same issue with this controller. Tried it on the Note with Asphalt 20 (works great) COD Mobile didnt accept it as I expected.

PC no luck on wireless at all. Connected with a cable and it does work with Tomb Raider if I switch the input between xInput & direct input (holding both the menu and start buttons did that - but no idea which mode it is on!)

Wireless it connects and pairs - but haven't got it to work with either the two games tested (Tomb Raider on Steam & Asphalt 9 via the MS Store). Does yours work on wireless with PC?

I use Bluetooth wireless to play MHW. So i connect the controller with cable to install the driver, then i switch to BT mode and connect the controller under BT setting on WIN10, after that on Steam, go to Big Picture Mode > controller setting, switch XP5-X controller to BT mode, you will see it will detect the controller, click on the detected controller and follow the screen then Save the setting. I tried with Xbox game pass game, but i still have no idea how to get it work with game pass game. but it work perfectly fine with either cable or wireless for steam games

Brilliant thanks! I missed setting it up in Big Picture but yes it seemed to work that way thanks! I contacted PowerA Support yesterday and they mentioned that bluetooth 5 is reccomended as well (though my dongle is only v4).

On the version of this controller without the XBox branding had noticed a lot of reviews saying it was very laggy on PC & pretty much useless but seems fine here at the moment even on V4 (although I am only like 2 ft away from the transmitter) Only time it seemed to be noticeably laggy for me was when I was setting up the inputs in Steam Big Picture - was about half a second or so before registering each axis & button. Once saved though it was fine 👍

Still not working for Asphalt9 either so wondering if XBox Store games maybe an issue (though definitely shouldn't be!). May also try it on something from Origin too.

I chose the thing to be honest because my spare XBox pad has given up working wirelessly so was hoping this might be a jack of all trades.

Thanks again

Yea, i contacted PowerA support yesterday too, so they told me that It appears that the controller is not fully licensed for Xbox Game Pass via Windows 10 platform yet.

I kinda like the Xp5-X controller more than PS4 controller. feel more comfortable.

Found out to setup wired connection to PC in some cases, once Moga XP5-X+ controller is connected the Start and Select buttons need to be pressed simultaneously for 3 seconds until the LED lights flash 3 times. This changes the controller from DirectInput to XInput. Once I did that, the driver was installed successfully. Adding this info to the thread in case it can help anyone else with issues connecting to PC via USB cable. {LINK REMOVED}

Thanks! :) It work! :)
Anyone else having trouble using the controller while its connected via bluetooth? It works fine when plugged in, but when I switch to bluetooth, it just doesnt work at all. It says its connected via steam big picture mode, but pressing buttons does literally nothing.

Having the same problem. Using the controller via cable was no problem, bluetooth is causing me trouble. Steam tells me it recognizes that there is a controller connected, but pressing any button doesn't do anything. Drivers are installed, but my dongle only hast Bluetooth 4.0. Is there any more I can do other than get a better dongle?

THIS WORKED

I just purchased two of these and was really frustrated with the not working with pc wirelessly part. I got them to work wirelessly with x360ce. A little setup and now no problems. Have to hit the xbox button twice for steam menu during game play. Also, the triggers are just regular buttons so not great for racing games, flawless for halo and my emulators.
