marvel avengers pre order will not download

i have just pre ordered the new marvel avengers game on square enix and when i go to activate the code through steam it pops up with an error message can anyone help with this or has anyone had this problem

I'm not sure if you are asking about downloading it (as per the title) or activating your copy on Steam. Either way: game comes out in September. You can't download anything yet.

If you are talking about activating it on Steam: where did you buy the key? Are you sure it is a Steam key?
