Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Game of the Year Edition will not launch

About an hour ago, Oblivion crashed out of nowhere with no error message or indication as to why it would crash. I tried to re-launch, and it kept taking me to Oblivion's page on the Steam store and prompted me to purchase. When I would click the blue "purchase" button, it would say I already bought the game and offered me a blue "play now" button which would not launch the game, just take me back to the main page to purchase. I updated my OS and made sure Steam was up-to-date. I restarted my machine multiple times. I uninstalled the game thinking that the issue was on my end, until I saw others having issues on the forum. Steam will not let me reinstall my game. Am I going to lose all of my saved game data now?

I'm glad I'm not the only one dealing with this at least. Sorry to hear your Skyrim is not working. I hope they get this fixed. I'm so worried about losing all my saved games :( Surely there has to be some sort of cloud storage for saved game files?

I don't believe you will lose the games. I just checked my account licenses and I still have all my purchased licenses, but Steam won't let me download or play my games for some reason. I expect them to fix this very soon. I don't know what's going to happen to your save data.

Same issue with DOOM Eternal. Can't launch and goes to store page. Many others with the same problem..

How do you check your account licenses? I tried finding my purchased items but nothing is coming up and it's no longer in my library since I uninstalled. But I can still get to it if I go search it on the store, or go to my profile and click on it from my recent activity. It's just not showing up in my full library anymore now that I've uninstalled it, though obviously still own it. I sure hope I don't lose where I was at! I was deep into the DLC and really enjoying it a lot.

Just wanted to add that my Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Game of the Year Edition keeps taking me to the store page too just recently

I have this same problem with Dead by Daylight, Sentinels of the Multiverse and Hand of Fate.
